MY LOVE
AFFAIR WITH PONTIAC
by Robert Zech
this is an excerpt from the articles appearing in the EAGLE
Since the late fifties, I have been car "fanatic".
I have had many cars over the years, including: 1957 Ford Custom
300 V-8 1965 Chevy Impala H.T. V-8 1964 Chevy Impala SS H.T. V-8
1965 Mercury Marauder H.T. 427 1968 Nova SS 350 1969 Chevelle SS396
and the list goes on. I first bought a Pontiac in the 70's. It
was a 1968 Firebird ram air. It was very nice and very fast. I
later bought an '83 Firebird Trans Am V-8. Black and beautiful. I
loved that car. An unfortunate accident (rear end) after two
years of driving caused me to park it after I had it repaired. It
then saw limited use, due to my bad case of nerves. I traded it
on a new 1987 Formula 350 V-8. I loved the car, and my addiction
to Pontiac Motor Division was now complete. The future would
bring more Pontiac excitement. An '88 Firebird coupe V-8, a
beautiful 1991 Firebird Formula 350 and my favorite of all - a
1994 LT-1 Formula V-8. It has all as of this date, only 5620
miles on the odometer. It, truly, is my baby. As you can see, I
am really into Pontiac power! I will continue to buy Firebirds as
long as are available. To that end, I will always be a Firebird
lover. Long live Firebird!
