MY DREAM CAR
by Lynnette Samanski
this is an excerpt from the articles appearing in the EAGLE

When I was 9 years old I watched the first episode of Knight Rider and that is when I knew I wanted a Trans Am. Every week I watched that show. The more I watched it the more I wanted one!

I started collecting models, buying Auto Hunters & Wheels & Deals Magazines. If I saw a T/A that I liked, I would cut the picture out and put in a shoe box. I did that for years. In 1989, my brother Andrew was looking to buy a sports car. After shopping a couple of months he ended up buying a beautiful 1984 white and gold Trans Am. He paid $7,600. There was not one thing wrong with it.

The night he got it he took me for a ride in it. At the time I was only 14 years old and he asked me if I wanted to drive it and my father said no because I was too young to drive. Andrew always teased me about the car by saying things like "hold the keys to my car as maybe someday these keys will be yours."

A year later he started talking about selling it and I asked my father if he would buy it for me. He said no because there was nowhere to store it for 2 years. Andrew decided to keep it for another year. In February 1991, my father bought me a 1978 Chevy Camaro. It was a wreck. It was in a bad accident. It rolled over and hit another tree!!

Two days after my father bought me that car, Andrew let me drive his car for the first time. I loved every thing about it. In August, Andrew bought a Porsche and I got rid of my car for the sum of $1.00 because for my birthday my father bought me the Trans Am I wanted for 3 1/2 years. It was and still is the best present I ever received. I will never forget that day I got the car of my dreams!!
