SPARE TIRE STABILITY

To keep your spare tire and jack from being thrown around in your trunk during hard driving, and possibly denting the rear quarter panel:

Try using the original locations for the jack and the tire iron. In second generation Firebirds, they are stowed under the rear deck near the speakers. Most cars are missing the little hold-down assembly, necessary for the jack to stay in place. Check your owners manual or the sticker in the trunk. You may have to search your trunk or the bone yards for the missing pieces.
